APCRD and Permablitz Hawaii hosted Darren J. Doherty* at Kualoa Ranch for a 2-day workshop Regenerative Agriculture Workshop exploring the Regrarians** platform and approach to the emboldening world we are working towards, be it for lifestyle or professional farmers, urban gardeners and anybody interested and active in positive living, enterprise or landscape development pursuits.
Students explored each of the Regrarian ‘Regen 10’ design elements: Climate, Geography, Water, Access, Forestry, Buildings, SubDivision, Soils, PolyMarketing & Energy via interactive presentations, workgroups, field exercises & demonstrations at Kualoa Ranch and learned how to design viable agricultural enterprises which regenerate soils, restore biodiversity, and ethically stewards its natural resources.
The Hawaii Center for Food Safety sponsored 8 scholarships for ranchers and farmers to attend, including 5 who attended from the neighbor islands.
* Darren Dohery is a 5th generation Bendigo farmer, developer, author & trainer and has been involved in the design & development of nearly 2000, mostly broadacre projects across 5 continents in close to 50 countries, ranging from 1 million hectare cattle stations in Australia’s Kimberly region to novel AG Machinery development + Family Farms across the globe with a range of private, corporate, government & non-profit clients.
