PermablitzHI #9 is ready to go off next Sunday June 24th @ Joy Waters’ house in Niu Valley – you may remember Joy from the awesome Permablitz movie she made at PermablitzHI#04 in Manoa…

Joy has her 3 blitzes under her belt and has asked us to help transform the sloping back & side yards of her family house.

Another mulch train will be in the works to give some love to the existing fruit trees down below, so we’ll be learning about pruning for maximum fruit production, and might even try our hands at some grafting again…

…there are also a number of oversized, fire-red bromelidas that need to be thinned (see photo above), so a few lucky blitzers may go home with some awesome exotic plants…

A bamboo arbor / trellis is in the works to create a grand entry to Joy’s enclave, and we’re going to have a go at installing a Dragonfruit pedestal.  Lots of soil amending & planting to be done in the terraced beds on both sides of the house, and Justin Franzmeier will show us how to install a water-efficient drip irrigation system.

We’ve also heard a rumour that the talented Michael Wall is polishing up his drum sets and digging up some whistle-while-you-work-songs, so we can kick it like they do in Africa… its gonna be awesome.

RSVP to save your spot, we can only fit a couple dozen on this blitzin’ mission!
